Not only did I travel to Crystal Lake for the Fest, I also volunteered at the Gail Borden Rakow Branch in Elgin this week. I will be doing more storytimes over there Wednesdays, July 10 and 17 at 10:30 am. I also continue to do storytimes for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frvpld.info\/dundee\/\">Fox River Valley Public Library District<\/a> at Panera and the Randall Oaks Branch. Come enjoy some stories with the Silly Librarian \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>This happy Fourth of July, I shared some story sparklers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Big Books:<br \/>\nThe Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Don Wood<br \/>\nClick, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin<br \/>\nKing Bidgood\u2019s in the Bathtub by Audrey Wood<br \/>\nMrs. McNosh Hangs up Her Wash by Sarah Weeks<\/p>\n<p>Storytelling:<br \/>\n\u201cBook! Book! Book!\u201d (This is a well-loved librarian anecdote about a chicken that comes into the library. One version, \u201cThe Well-Read Frog\u201d can be found in Margaret Read MacDonald\u2019s Three Minute Tales.)<br \/>\n\u201cThe Little Red Hen\u201d (This is a traditional folktale, possibly of Russian-origin. Children dressed up and acted out the parts.
